Sold our Anthem Home

view of our Anthem home
Our Anthem Home

Well it had to happen I guess.  Having taken the plunge to market our home for sale in late December, it took precisely 5 or so days until we had a firm offer.  Two weeks on the deal was done.  This really is the only way to sell a house.  No waiting around and wondering, few viewings and a short close.  We have to thank our realtor, Linda Rehwalt for the excellent support and marketing plan she devised.  If you are ever in the market for a home in Anthem she is you’re go to person.

So on April 1, 2013 we will be officially homeless and starting on our journey of discovery.  Be careful what you wish for.….

Freezing weekend in Anthem

Well its mid-January and its freezing here.  Not that unusual for the desert but still comes as a bit of a shock.  The temperature fell to around 27F last night and we had to cover all the vulnerable plants.  Managed to buy some sheets from the Goodwill store and used there as covers.  Seems to working really well.

For the first time in 5 years our garden pond has frozen solid.  The cold snap is expected to continue until Tuesday–roll on the warmer weather!

Garden visitors

hawk
hawk settled on the garden fence for a rest

So this guy swooped in and landed on the garden fence this evening.   He was about a foot and a half tall and not surprisingly all the rest of the birdlife made a hasty retreat when he appeared.

As he flew off there was a large shadow cast on the ground.  Beware anyone being caught for his supper.
